This album officially claims the 13th release in our catalog to date.

After a very energetic so called pop punk release was under their belts, Lost Years decided to give some of their songs a reimagining for their first release with Capeside Records. This is not a typical acoustic pop punk record. Play the Guitar Drunk Until Your Fingers Begin to Bleed a Bit feels like a melding of the folk, indie/ punk, and even a hint of the country genre. The harmonica and lap steel guitar find themselves comfortably suitable on most of the tracks, making this record feel very unique, while not straying too far into the folk genre. Even the electric renditions that make their way onto this release feel stripped down a bit, never relying on too many effects and never droning on. Every song is quick and relentless, and there are numerous lines that stick in your mind for days.
It can be said that this album is a trademark release for this band who has worked hard to bring you a taste of what they really are musically capable of. Lost Years also hits the studio the same day as this release, January 8th, to begin recording their next full length titled, “Traditions.” “Play the Guitar Drunk Until Your Fingers Begin to Bleed a Bit; Acoustic Renditions & B-Sides” is available on iTunes, cdbaby, interpunk, and amazon or it can also be streamed on spotify. Lost Years will be playing a hometown show in Gary IN on January 11 in support of the album and also have a headlining show in Detroit at the Corktown Tavern on January 19th.

The Better Fight takes a step back from their easycore/pop punk roots to give us all a stripped down view of their hearts with a mostly acoustic release titled “Word Gets Around in This Small Town”. These Kalamazoo musicians have been hard at work the last year, touring in the early fall and recording this EP as well as a full length slated for a early summer release next year. The pop punk genre has always cherished the acoustic EP, and with good reason. Acoustic renditions of already catchy break-up songs magnify the intensity of the emotions the artists are trying to convey to the audience. The one non-acoustic track on this EP, “Word Gets Around”, is a great example of the direction that the band is heading in. It is a catchy song that digs it’s claws into your subconscious and has a tendency to stay in your head for weeks after you hear it. “Word Gets Around in This Small Town” will be available December 18th on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Interpunk, and more! Also be sure to keep an eye out on Property of Zack Friday December 7th, for an exclusive stream of “Word Gets Around” off of the new EP that can be heard no place else!

We are getting very anxious to release the latest works from our great friends in Lost Years. The band has had their fair share of ups and downs lately dealing with multiple broken vans, lineup changes, and sadly, broken promises. After setting a release date for this album back in October, the band ran into even more problems leaving them no choice but to push the release date back. But after a lot of headache and hard work these guys have put together a full length acoustic album that is one you have got to get your hands on in 2013!

Listen to their latest single titled “Ramblin’ Bones”!
